Nevia No is a classically trained performer who runs Bodhitree Farm in Pemberton, New Jersey. Nevia struggles to maintain equilibrium on the farm and provide for her farmhands, mother and adult daughter, Euni. Euni is ambivalent about farming, but during the pandemic, she returns back home to help her mother. Nevia dreams that a season of farming will persuade her daughter to take over the family business, but Euni may have dreams of her own.

Michael Fearon

Gabriella Canal, a Latinx documentary filmmaker living in New York City, tells stories rooted in identity and immigration, with a focus on women’s voices. As a producer, she’s worked with The Atlantic, John Leguizamo’s NGL Studios and Global Citizen. Her independent work as a director and DP has been featured by The Video Consortium, New York Women in Film and Television and the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. Her last documentary short, “No Man’s Land,” just had its New York premiere at DOC NYC, and received the Audience Award for Best Short Film at The Florida Film Festival. She is now freelancing as an Associate Producer with Insignia Films, where she’s producing a feature length documentary about the largest universal basic income experiment underway in rural Kenya.

Michael Fearon’s work focuses on people engaging with the natural world. Originally from Northern California, he has produced films about a young Sherpa in Nepal, a mezcal distillery in rural Oaxaca, and a school for autistic children. Previously, he worked at the Council on Foreign Relations, where he helped produce informative videos about international issues such as climate change policy and the Israeli-Palestinian impasse. He currently works as an Associate Producer at Blue Chalk Media, where he is producing and directing episodes of “The Cabin Chronicles,” which explores the architecture, design, and human connection behind remote cabins and their surrounding landscapes.
