I Am Her

Synopsis

I Am Her spotlights the voices of transgender women within NYC’s homeless underclass, who struggle for self acceptance - and for survival itself. One church opens its doors for support - but as tensions rise, the community is left in tenuous balance. Street life’s dangers loom - sex work, disease, abuse, homelessness - as all fight to find their own voice, and tell their story: one of passion, deep pain, and the stunning resilience needed to overcome it.
