DAVID VALERIO
David Valerio, a native of New Mexican, is a documentary filmmaker and photographer. He graduated from Hampshire College, where he studied aquatic ecology and marine science. Before coming to Columbia University he worked as an outdoor educator in the mountains of northern New Mexico. His work focuses on public health, social movements, and environmental justice.

NIKKI CHESHIRE
Nikki Cheshire is a broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker from Washington, DC. In addition to filmmaking, she loves writing and photography. Her favorite subjects include science and environmental conservation. She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University Schreyer Honors College in 2016 with degrees in broadcast journalism and Spanish. While in Pennsylvania, she worked as an Executive Producer and reporter for the Centre County Report’s live television news broadcast.
